You will discover the capital of Montenegro – Podgorica city, through easy walking tour, and next days enjoy rafting on Tara river known as ‘tear of Europe’ because of its clean water (its canyon is the deepest in Europe, and second deepest in the world after Colorado), easy hiking tour in Obodska cave – Rijeka Crnojevića (beautiful little historic place), climbing to the Lovćen mausoleum –  symbol of Montenegro and its freedom (461 steps to the top), visiting Cetinje – Old Royal Capital, Budva – metropolis of Montenegrin tourism, also known as Queen of Adriatic, Saint Stefan – a unique place in the whole world, at the same time an island, a city and a hotel. You will have an opportunity to take a photo on the Pavlova side – viewpoint from which photos represent Montenegro in magazines worldwide!

Podgorica is the capital of Montenegro located in the center of this country, at the intersection of several important road directions that lead from the sea to the continental part of the country. It is the main administrative, political, economic, traffic, scientific and educational – cultural center of Montenegro. It offers a wide range of discoveries to visitors through cultural heritage, archaeological sites, monuments, museums, and through nature in a national park, active holidays, views of canyons, rivers and bridges, as well as enjoyment of traditionally produced food and wine. In Podgorica there is one of the largest and most beautiful vineyards in Europe – ’’13. Jul Plantaže’’, covering 2,300 hectares, and all who visit the ‘’Šipčanik’’ basement have the opportunity to experience the impressive ambient of a unique wine cellar in Europe, enjoying the unforgettable smells and tastes of Montenegro.

Cetinje is a small city museum with beautiful monuments, promenades and nature under the huge mountain Lovćen. Cetinje is the former capital of Montenegro. It was founded in the 15th century and became the center of Montenegrin life and its culture. This small city, enriched with the greenery and architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries will surely draw your attention at first glance, through a rare combination of nature and culture, museums, art faculties, parks, promenades.

Lovćen is the symbol of Montenegro and its freedom. The mountain is located at 1749 m above sea level, and in 1952, it was declared a national park. On one of the peaks of Lovćen, Jezerski vrh – 1675 m above sea level, there is a Mausoleum, dedicated to Petar II Petrović Njegoš bishop, ruler, thinker and poet, one of the most important figures of Montenegrin history. Lovćen is special in many ways. It is rightly said that Lovćen is a natural treasure of Montenegro.

At the foothill of Lovćen, at  900 m above sea level, there is the most famous Montenegrin village Njeguši, where the Petrović dynasty comes from, which ruled for 300 years by Montenegro. The village is famous for production of traditional products: prosciutto, cheese and honey.

Saint Stefan is a settlement not far from Budva, connected with the land by a narrow landing. It represents a unique place in the whole world, at the same time it is an island – city – hotel. This island is the most luxurious resort in Montenegro and one of the most luxurious on the Adriatic.

It is an inevitable destination for visiting tourists, which is not surprising because in the 1970s famous such as Sophia Loren, Kirk Douglas, Orson Welles, Sylvester Stallone and Elizabeth Taylor stayed here. The famous Italian actress has declared for this place: “… as if I had returned to town from the most beautiful fairy tale of my childhood.” Numerous statesmen, Soviet marshals and writers also stayed in this place.

Budva dates back 3,450 years ago and is one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic Sea. Budva has a large number of cultural and historical monuments, monasteries and churches that document the historical and social events in the area of ​​the Budvanska Riviera. The most famous part of the city walls is called Citadel and is an interesting tourist attraction. It is also known for its sandy beaches, night life, the area of ​​hotels and restaurants… Budva, also called ‘’Queen of Adriatic’’, is a prestigious destination on the tourist map of Europe and the world.

Tara River is known for its clean water as the “tear of Europe”. With a length of 146.4 km it is the longest river in Montenegro. Its clear and icy water can be drunk in any part of the stream. It is one of the most attractive rivers in the world, created for lovers of adventure and active vacation. The last 25 km of Tara river and the canyon represent the most attractive part for rafting with beautiful landscapes and 20 most exciting rapids. 

The Tara canyon is the deepest in Europe (1.333 m deep), and the second in the world after the Colorado canyon in America. The largest part of the Tara River, including its canyon, is under the protection of UNESCO as part of the Durmitor National Park since 1977, and it is one of the 25 most important natural sights.

Itinerary

We will welcome you to the airport, and then head towards Podgorica.

We start a panoramic sightseeing tour with a guide, after which we will head to the hotel. Check - in.

Meeting at agreed time, and start easy walking through the city accompanied by a guide – 2 hours.

We start the tour from the Republic Square - the main city square. We will pass through Bokeška Street with nice cafes and urban look, a favorite place for young people to go out. We will see the Millennium Bridge that represents the visual identity of the city. We will visit the Sastavci or the Skalines - the oldest bridge in Podgorica, according to the historical facts that was established during the Roman rule. We will visit the Clock Tower and the Old Town located in the very heart of Podgorica which preserves rich historical and cultural heritage. The most beautiful example of architecture remaining from the Turkish period is the Clock Tower, which is a symbol of Podgorica. It still dominates the area of Old Town with its height. Then we will continue towards Centre of Contemporary Art - Kruševac - the former winter mansion of King Nikola I Petrović. Then we continue our walk to the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ, the third largest Orthodox temple in the world. In the end we visit St. George Church which dates from the IX-XI century; belongs to the oldest active worship of the Christian chapel in the area of Montenegro and beyond.

Back to the hotel. Dinner. Spare time. Overnight stay.

Starting the tour at agreed time. Driving towards Cetinje (Old Royal Capital) – 30 min.

Arrival at Cetinje. City sightseeing: Cetinje Monastery, Ćipuri church, the former Njegoš’s residence - Biljarda, King Nikola’s museum, the Presidential Palace, the Royal Theater "Zeta house", the monument of Ivan Crnojević - Zeta ruler and founder of Cetinje (duration 1h).

Driving to Lovćen mausoleum – approx. 40 min.

Arrival at Lovćen. Visit Njegoš's mausoleum (461 steps to the top). Stairs to Njegoš's mausoleum also lead through the tunnel through the mountain, and after a few minutes walk you arrive to the "sky under the clouds", to the Jezerski vrh – Lake peak, from where all around you is provided as in the palm - 1 hour.

Continuing drive to Saint Stefan – 1 hour 20 min.

We will take a break for a lunch at the famous restaurant on the way – 1h.

Photo break and enjoy the beautiful view of Saint Stefan from Adriatic highway viewpoint from which it is a photo of the island on many posters promoting Montenegro worldwide. We will pass through the park Miločer – King’s park, near former summer house of dynasty Karađorđević, and also King’s beach. Park Miločer is one of the most beautiful parks and arboretums in the Adriatic. The park counts a lot of rare and exotic plant species brought by seafarers from all over the world.

Free time for Saint Stefan sightseeing – 1h.

*Optionally - Walking tour of the island with a guide who will tell you the history of the island, interesting events and experiences related to this place. You will see The Church of Lord’s Transfiguration, Piazza – central square where local people used to trade homemade products, Small and Big Church. It is also possible to visit one of the rooms in exclusive ‘’Aman Resort’’, if hotel is not 100% filled – 45 min.

Driving towards Budva – 20 min.

Arrival at Budva. Accompanied by a guide, you will see the Old Town, which unites with unity, walk in the winding streets, enjoy the view of the late Middle Ages squares that form a whole with solid ramparts, their towers and city gates, Orthodox and Catholic churches – 1h:30min.

Back to the hotel. Free time. Overnight stay.

Departure in the early morning hours, driving towards Šćepan Polje. Duration of the journey: 2 - 3 hours.

Arriving at the camp, meeting with skippers and other participants in rafting, a traditional Montenegrin breakfast at the restaurant on the riverside (approx. 1h 30 min).

Preparation for rafting - fitting with neoprene clothing and footwear, safety belts, helmets (set for Go Pro camera) - 30 minutes. You can take camera and mobile phones with yourselves, because there is a safety, waterproof bag in your boats where you can leave your stuff during rapids, and use them during breaks as well as in quiet parts of the river.

Your adventure begins with short and exciting driving by off-road vehicles to the starting point of the rafting tour "Brštanovica" (approx. 40 min). When you arrive, skipper will give you all instructions that you need for rafting, so the important thing is listen to him and be careful what he will say. Also, he will inform you during the rafting before each rapid.

Rafting with pauses for swimming and photography at the most beautiful places and unavoidable most beautiful waterfall on the Tara (3 - 4 hours). Tara River seems to have white restless water stairs with beautiful, peaceful pools between rapids that allow you to rest, take a photo of its unique landscapes, or to try out swimming in crystal clear but very cold water.

Back to the camp. Traditional Montenegrin lunch (various dishes - gourmet, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and other dishes of your choice + aperitif - homemade Montenegrin brandy) – approx. 1h 30 min. Almost all products are of organic origin, purchased from local breeders and manufacturers.

Driving towards Obodska cave – 1 h. Photo break on Pavlova side, one of the most attractive viewpoints in Montenegro, the most famous "picture card" of Montenegro.

Arrival. Starting hiking tour (duration 2 – 3 hours). The starting point is from the center of the settlement Crnojevića. The road goes all the way to the river. The Obodska cave has 2 km of hiking and is suitable for people with different conditioning as well as for families. The Obodska cave is a real pearl and an ideal opportunity for all those who did not have the experience to stay in the caves.

In return, we can organize a cruise through the Crnojevića River with a boat, climb to the ancient town of Obod – optionally.

Rijeka Crnojevića sightseeing. Lunch at the local fish restaurant – 1 hour.

This tour is a perfect opportunity to experience the old Montenegro as well as the former life in this region.

Continuing drive to the Winery ‘Mrkan’ – 30 min. Sightseeing winery, wine cellar and vineyards. Listening about production of wines, brandies, liqueurs, jams…
Tasting of 5 types of wine, grape brandy and 5 types with different medicinal herbs, herbal and fruit liqueurs with mini snack – 1 hour.

Back to the hotel. Free time. Overnight stay.
